Bali is a place known by anyone with a wandering soul. It’s one of those hit list places that all sun worshipers and people of the ocean know they need to visit without question. We embarked on the 24-hour flight (my husband, 1. yo baby and father in law in tow) to join a party of 50 guests halfway across the world to celebrate Dave and Amanda’s wedding. We danced underneath the stars, I did back tucks into a swimming pool in my wedding apparel. Yes, folks, everything was done up quite proper at this union of souls!
If you need to imagine what a wedding at The Uluwatu Surf Villas looks like, all you must imagine is a slice of heaven on earth. Panoramic views of the ocean in front of you and the breeze behind you. Lush gardens and thatched roofs with little brilliantly decorated modern surf villas tucked under giant palm leaves. The cliffside property drops down to one of the most epic surf breaks discovered by famed surfers from the 1970s (think young Gerry Lopez in booty shorts surfing a wave with not a soul around). Dave and Amanda’s vision for a destination wedding to remember for a lifetime did not disappoint.
In the days leading up to the wedding guests arrived on their own little missions. Exploring different parts of Bali, folks met up at Airbnbs in little towns, creating new memories and making new friends until we all gathered upon the villas for 5 uninterrupted days of nonsense.
The photos speak for themselves I believe. I am so happy to share a few highlights.
